At UTSA, donors to Annual Giving programs have played a powerful role in the success of the comprehensive Be Bold Campaign, specifically focusing on the collective impact of individual gifts between $1 and $25,000. Over the past seven years, thousands of donors have stepped forward to support initiatives like President’s Associates, UTSA Giving Day, Huddle Against Hunger and Battle of the Birds , showing that every gift, no matter the size, can directly impact the everyday lives of students.
President’s Associates, one of UTSA’s longest-running annual giving societies, provides flexible funds that support strategic university priorities and enhance the student experience. These contributions help fund academic enrichment, leadership development and campuswide initiatives that promote student success.
UTSA Giving Day, a 32-hour online campaign held annually in early April, connects alumni, students, faculty, staff, parents and friends in support of over 60 programs. In 2025 alone, over 2,400 gifts raised more than $830,000 for scholarships, academic programs, student support services and more. Matching challenges and prize incentives inspire participation and amplify every dollar raised. Since the first-ever UTSA Giving Day in 2021, the campaign has raised well over $3 million to help thousands of students across the university.
Other recent efforts, such as Huddle Against Hunger — a joint initiative between UTSA and Texas State University — raised $86,267 to benefit both universities’ campus food pantries. Similarly, Battle of the Birds, a spirited donor challenge between UTSA and the University of North Texas, brought in $52,428 from 388 donors to support the Roadrunner Pantry. These campaigns not only raised critical funds but also strengthened school pride and community connection.
Through crowdfunding, Annual Giving also has helped fund vital resources like the Student Emergency Fund, Roadrunner Athletics, student organization conferences and emerging programs in the arts and sciences.
From stocking shelves with essentials to launching new academic opportunities, donors’ contributions are creating meaningful impact.
As UTSA closes out the Be Bold: A Campaign for Our Future, donors to Annual Giving initiatives remain a driving force — sustaining momentum, building community and ensuring that more students have the tools they need to succeed now and into the future.
